Zidan participates in a six goals thriller:

Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan recovered from a minor foot injury and started for Dortmund in their big derby match versus the leaders of the Bundesliga Shalke 04.

Zidan played from the start but he was replaced by Alexander Frei in the 63rd minute. The substitute had much bigger impact than Zidan as he scored twice to get his side back into the game.

Zizou continued his habit of playing poorly for big clubs right after joining them. He had a poor start with Werder Bremen and with Hamburg. Now, Zidan couldn't leave a good impression for Dortmund fans and if he continued this way, he will surely lose his starting spot to Alexander Frei.

Lack of ability to play under pressure is the biggest problem with Zidan. The Bundesliga is all about pressure. Even at a higher level than the Premiership. Zidan starts to lose the ball quickly when he is under pressure letting the other strikers who are less talented but can cope with pressure start instead.

the game was full of pace and excitment. Shalke took the lead first after a mistake from Dortmund defender Subotic who handled in the area. The match referee pointed to the spot and Farfan converted the penalty kick easily to make the score 0-1.

Things got even worse for Dortmund as Rafinha managed to double the lead for Schalke in the 38th minute. On the other hand, Zidan failed to convert from a one on one situation with the keeper.

In the 2nd half, particularly in the 53rd minute, Westermann scored the 3rd goal for Schalke to complicate things for Dortmund. However, the homesdie refused to roll over and die.

In the 63rd minute, underperforming Zidan was taken off and the team captain Alexander Frei came on.

Four minutes later, Dortmund defender Subotic clawed a goal back for the home side to make the score 1-3.

The Swiss international made an immediate impact as he scored a great goal in the 70th minute to make the score 2-3.

In the 72nd mknute Pander was shown a 2nd yellow card and Schalke had to resume the game with ten men. Just a couple of minutes later the referee sent Fabian Ernst off and the guests became only nine men on the pitch.

This facilitated Dortmund's job as they increased their pressure in the final minutes in order to score the equalizer. The goal came in the 89th minute of the game from a penalty kick and the penalty kick taker was Alexander frei.

With this home draw, Dortmund became 4th in the table while Shalke dropped to the 3rd spot. The top spot is occupied by Hamburger SV who defeated Lverkusen 3-2 this afternoon.
