Zidan (left) celebrates his first trophy win this season
Mohamed Zidan added another achievement to his fruitful
career as his side HSV were crowned as champions in
the latest Emirates cup.
The presence of the biggest names in football didn't
stop the ambitious HSV side from winning the title as
they were the most impressive side.
Hamburg lost by a single goal to La Liga champions
Real Madrid with Zidan scoring a magical goal. Despite
this, the Egyptian and his teammates destroyed Juventus
Turin by three goals without reply to win the tournament.
The tournament had its special rules. Winners gather
three points each while each team that succeeds in scoring
a goal, gets a point as well. Zizou's side had better
goal difference. They lost a game and won one, same
the remaining three teams, but Hamburg scored four goals
in this tournament which made their total points equal
seven points. On the other hand, Arsenal collected four
points, Juventus collected four as well while Real Madrid
had five.

This tournament helped Zidan to hit more than bird with a
single stone. The Egyptian won a trophy against three of the
biggest clubs in the world. The Egyptian scored a great goal
against Real Madrid which is an achievement of its own. In
addition to this, this tournament proved that Martin Jol has
Zizou in his plans and he will likely give him the role of
Van der Vaart or play him on the wings either as a left winger
or a right sided player.
This has also been confirmed today as the Dutch star Rafael
van der Vaart announced his departure to the royal club Real
de Madrid as both sides reached an agreement to transfer the
Dutch international playmaker to the Spanish champions.
Such move will surely boost Zidan's chances at HSV, especially
after his impressive form in the Emirates cup.
It should be noted that HSV will kick off the new season
with a tough clash with Bayern Munich after a couple of weeks
from now...
