Unconfirmed:
Zidan To Join Saudi Side Al-Ittehad On Loan!!
Date: 26-6-2008 Wrote by: EP's webmaster
In what could be the most schoking
move for Egyptians abroad this season, Ittehad club
of KSA claimed that they reached an agreement with Zidan
and Hamburg to loan the Egyptian for one year.
Will Zidan's problems at Hamburg lead
him to take the worst decision in his footballing carreer?
The answer is not clear yet but the story should unfold
within days with the opening of summer transfer window
on the 1st of July.
Zidan is currently unhappy at Hamburg
due to lack of first team football which seems to continue
in the next season under the reign of Martin Jol. The
Egyptian also was warned by HSV after he publicly criticized
his former manager Huub Stevens.
Die Bild published an article about Zidan's
situation recently and claimed that the Egyptian is
no longer wanted in Hamburg especially after his criticism
to Stevens. The newspapers also claimed that Zidan teammates
at Hamburg don't like him and the best option for the
Egyptian is to join Dortmund.
However, Die Bild revealed that nobody
wants Zidan at the moment. They mentioned that HSV have
no offers for the Egyptian.
In the past few hours, Saudi club Al-Ittehad
claimed that they reached an agreement with HSV and
Zidan to loan the Egyptian to the Saudi side for one
year. The club claimed that the deal is done and Hamburg
accepted the offer.
If this offer was true, Zidan will spend the next season as
a player in the Saudi League instead of Europe, but he will
return to Hamburg at end of next season.
Such move will surely have a huge negative impact
on Zidan's European career as the Egyptian is already 26 year
old and he should think of moving to a more technical league
like the French or the Spanish instead of leaving Europe completely
and starting over next season after becoming a forgotten player.
