Mohamed Zidan played from the start for HSV in their home match versus Duisburg and was taken off in the 88th minute after failing to make the desired impact. Unfortunately, Zidan started in the worst match HSV played this season. All the players looked out of form and Duisburg's pressure didn't give Hamburg players any chance.

Zidan lacks confidence

Zidan started but Failed to impress:

Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan started together with Guerrero in attack. However, the Egyptian lacked confidence and didn't perform well. To be fair, all HSV squad looked awful as they failed to penetrate the organized defense from Duisburg side and also failed to deal with the pressure that the guests applied on HSV forwards.

Zidan is indeed a great player and he proved how good he is in the last season as he scored 13 goals in 15 games for Mainz. However, he couldn't shine with Hamburg this season for a variety of reasons. The most important of which is his lack of first team football.

But more importantly, Zidan is not getting support from his teammates who often try to find Van der Vaart or Guerrero with their passes but they rarely look for Zidan. The Egyptian also plays out of position most of time and he is not getting enough support from the coach. Due to this, Zidan tries not to overuse his skills and to get rid of the ball.

Zidan should be given more creative freedom and support from the coach, but unfortunately this is not the case in Hamburg and so, it won't be surprising if the Egyptian moved to another club this summer.

In today's game, Zidan barely got the ball, he did well in some occasions as he provided some good passes especially for Guerrero. He also got a golden chance to score early on but the Egyptian couldn't convert.

The match was pretty tight as Duisburg put all HSV key players under immense pressure and closed the gaps in their defense well. As a result, Hamburg had a lot of troubles in the game as the forwards looked isolated at front and when they got the ball, they lose it quickly due to pressure.

Duisburg won the game by a single goal which came through Grlic who volleyed the ball home from 25 yards.

On the other hand, Werder Bremen managed to steal the 2nd spot in table from Shalke after a great 5-1 home win. This defeat of Schalke put them 3rd in table while HSV dropped to the 4th spot.
