Zidan finally played and show what he
can do. He came on to help his side to come back into
the game while playing with ten men after the sending
off of Jarolim.
The home match versus Bielefield was a
great chance for HSV to reduce the points difference
between them and Bayern Munich who are ahead by seven
points. However, Hamburg didn't take advantage of Bayer
Munich 1-1 away draw with Nuremberg and the home defeat
for Werder Bremen at the hands of Duisburg.
HSV were generally the better side in
the game. They created more chances but couldn't convert.
Also they had some good long range shots on goal. On
the other hand, Bielefield scored from the only chance
they got.
After a goalless first half, Guerrero
wasted a golden chance from a free header. Stevens decided
to bring Zidan in the 54th minute to replace the less
than impressive Olic.
Zidan really made a difference. He used
his skills to penetrate through Bielefield's defense
and the ball reached Trochowski who fired a shot from
way out but it went centimeters over the bar.
Minutes later, Jarolim did well to take
the ball past a defender but the latter clattered him
to the floor. Jarolim got surrounded by Bielifield players
and he hit one of them and brought him onto the ground.
As a result, he was shown the red card and HSV had to
resume the game with 10 men.
Minutes later, the guests won a corner
kick from which Bollmann headed home to give Bielefield
the lead against the run of play.
