Just an hour before training Mohamed Zidan arrived in Hamburg. But his coach explained: "Newspapers have reported me making a disciplinary decision towards Zidan and said that it's because he comes a little late. But his flight from Cairo was delayed."

The Egyptians spent the Monday at the airport reception in his homeland.

After the 4-1 success against Eintracht Frankfurt, in which Zidan finally returned to scoring ways, HSV must concentrate on Bayer Leverkusen in Europe's second competition.

"Leverkusen have a good team and have played a good season. We know what we will face," said Stevens.

"The UEFA Cup is a different competition. Perhaps Bundesliga results have some effect on it , but I see neither an advantage nor a disadvantage for any team," he added.
