Hamburg managed to equalize with Karlsruhe as they scored in the last minute through Olic to end the game in a 1-1 draw. The homeside lead the game by a goal but Zidan's side equalized to keep their title hopes alive. Zidan started on bench as Guerrero returned to selection. The Egyptian replaced Jarolim in the 78th minute and helped his side come back into the game

HSV ended the first half of season in the 3rd spot after Bayern Munich and Bremen after the away draw with Karlsruhe. The game almost ended in a win for the homeside by HSV equalized in the last minutee through Olic who headed home from a corner kick.

Zidan didn't start as usual but he came on in the 78th minute. Twelve minutes weren't enough for the Egyptian to make an impact but he helped his side to come back into the game.

Karlsruhe had some dangerous attempts thoughout the game and they deserved to come out as winners but HSV can consider themselves lucky to go back home with a point which kept them in the competition for the title.


After the end of the 17th round, Bayern Munich remained at top of the table with 36 points. Zizou's former club Werder Bremmen comes 2nd with 35 points after their 5-2 home win on saturday against Leverkusen while HSV are currently 3rd with 32 points.
