Zidan's HSV faced the French side Rennes
in the UEFA cup on Thursday night. Zidan didn't start
the game but he came on as a sub in the 85th minute.
Zdan had an immediate impact as he won a penalty kick
and scored from the spot to make the score 3-0 for HSV.
The first two goals came through Van der Vaart and Choupo-Moting.
Finally, light at end of the dark tunnel for Zizou
Zidan finally found light at end of the
dark tunnel as he won a penalty kick and scored his
second goal this season for HSV in their home clash
with Rennes in the UEFA cup group D.
The frustrated Egyptian didn't start the
game and only came on with five minutes left but he
managed to use his skill to dribble into the box from
the left wing and force his marker to foul him inside
the box. The match referee awarded Zizou a penalty kick
with no hesitation and the Egyptian converted it well
as he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and scored to
make the score 3-0 for Hamburg.
HSV started the game with their regular
4-3-3 formation with Olic as the main forward, Van der
Vaart as a support man behind OLic while Romeo Castelen
and Trochoveski played the roles of the right and left
wingers.
The current selection means that Zizou
has no place in the starting eleven even with the absence
of Guerrero but this annoying situation will hopefully
change after tonight's match.
HSV had no troubles beating their French
opponents and they looked in total control of the game.
They didn't play the best attractive football but they
definitely got the job done as OLic found Vaart with
a fine pass in the 30th minute and the later scored
to give the homeside the lead.
In the 2nd half, HSV continued to dominate but had little
danger on goal. The coach Huub Stevens made a couple of changes
as he brought Demel at expense of De Jong while Choupo-Moting
replaced Olic.
Zidan didn't look very happy with his goal
Immediately after coming on, the youngster Choupo-Moting
scored from his first touch to the ball as Van der Vaart laid
the ball superbly to him in the area and he faced the goal
and scored into the bottom corner to double the lead for HSV.
Just five minutes before the final whistle,
Zidan came on and scored his goal after winning an obvious
penalty kick. The Egyptian didn't look very happy with his
goal but hopefully, it will be something to build upon for
the Egyptian.
