Mohamed Zidan helped HSV emerge
winners from their away clash with Duisburg. The game
ended in a 0-1 win and the goalscorer was Vincent Kompany
who also scored te winning goal versus Bergen in the
UEFA cup. Zizou played from the start and came off in
the 73rd minute.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan played
from the start in HSV's away clash with Duisburg. Th
Egyptian didn't play in his regular position as striker
and he took the role of the injured Dutch international
Rafael Van der Vaart.
Zizou had a decent game in the first half
but he looked tired in the 2nd and started to lose possession
easily and so, he came off in the 73rd minute and was
replaced by Choupo-Moting.
The game ended in a 0-1 win and Kompany
was once again the goalscorer. The only goal came through
a freekick which was struck high at goal but the ball
bounced off the bar and fell to Kompany who chipped
it over the goalkeeper and scored.
Generally, HSV were the better side as
they controlled the rythm of gameplay in this tactical
game. Stevens also used his cards well as he played
with the same tactics of the HSV away UEFA cup win over
Bergen.
HSV played possession football and their strong defense didn't
let Duisburg players have a chance. On the other hand, speedy
forwards like Zidan, Trochoweski and Olic were always a threat
with their counter attacks.
The win put HSV in a prestigiuos 2nd position
in the table after Bayern Munich who drew with Dortmund while
Zizou's former club Werder Bremen became 3rd.
It should be noted that Zidan received a yellow
card in the 54th minute of the game after a late challenge.
