Zidan started in this afternoon home match versus former champions Stuttgart. The Egyptian provided the assist to the first goal which was scored by hat-trick hero Olic who added two more goals. The home side took advantage from the sending off of Stuttgart's Pardo in the last minute of the first half and added another goal to end the game in an impressive 4-1 win.

Huub Stevens played Zizou as left forward

Despite the many injuries that HSV had, Zidan and his teammates were up to the challenge and achieved a great 4-1 home win over the ex-Bundesliga champions VFB Stuttgart.

Zidan returned to the starting eleven due to the injury of Guerrero and played the full match. Other players on the injury list were Van der Vaart, De Jong and Castelen.

Zidan had a decent game. However, he didn't play as lone striker as it was expected. He played as left forward instead of Olic and the latter played the role of Guerrero thats why Zizou didn't appear on the scoring sheet as he played the role of the support man.

In the opening minutes of the game, Zizou got a golen chance to score when a long through pass was played to him, the Egyptian was onside but he couldn't control the ball well and keep it at his feet and it was collected by the goalkeeper.

Minutes later, Zizou shone as he stole the ball from the German international defender of Stuttgart Farnerud and advanced with it into the box, he passed a great though pass to Olic who made no mistake and buried the ball home with his left to make the score 1-0 in the 7th minute.

The early goal gave HSV more confidence and desire to score more and they succeeded in that thanks to the sloppy man marking and poor positioning from defense and goalkeeper of Stuttgart as Olic found himself a few yards away from goal to add the 2nd goal.

After the 2nd goal which came in the 22nd minute, Olic sealed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute in a similar fashion to his 2nd goal as he only had to send the ball home from close range to make the score 3-0.

In the 45th minute, Stuttgart's Pardo kicked Jarolim while trying to get the ball from him and the Mexican international was shown the red card. As a result, Stuttgart had to continue the game with 10 men on the field.

The 2nd half was less exciting thatn the first but HSV managed to add a 4th goal through Matjsen who headed the ball home in the 60th minute.

Zidan faded alittle in the 2nd half and didn't appear much in the area. He tried to provide his teammates with the passes but he rarely got in a good position to score. The Egyptian had a chance to score near the end when Choupo-Moting laid the ball to him from the left wing, Zizou couldn't direct his shot well though and sent it low and wide.

In the 73rd minute, Tasci scored the only goal for Stuttgart but it was too late already. The goal came from a corner kick which was swung high into the area to find Tasci who headed it well home to make the score 4-1.
