Guerrero Puts Zidan Under Pressure!

Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero netted twice in HSV's easy home win over Honved in the UEFA cup. The player will likely take Zizou's place in the starting elven in the coming games if the Egyptian didn't impress in training.

Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan could lose his position in the starting eleven of HSV because of the competition from other forwards Paolo Guerrero and Choupo-Moting.

Zizou couldn't score in four games for HSV. He did hit the bar twice versus Leverkusen and also had some decent touches but that wasn't enough to convince his coach Hub Stevens who decided to give the Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero the chance to start instead of the unlucky Zizou in the home clash with Honved.

Unfortunately for Zidan, Guerrero didn't let Stevens down and scored twice to put the Egyptian under immense pressure.

Welt.de reported that Zidan was upset after sitting on bench the whole game and didn't like to sign fan autographs or to talk to reporters.

The Egyptian didn't even come on in the 2nd half and instead, the 18 year old Choupo-Moting did and didn't disappoint either as he scored the 4th goal.

Dutch coach Hub Stevens explained the situation after the match. He said that Zidan didn't feel very well in the last match of HSV where they lost by two goals to one to Bochum. So, he decided to start with Guerrero in the UEFA Cup match as the latter showed better form in training.

It should be noted that HSV will face the leaders Bayern Munich in a tough encounter this weekend and it is not known yet if Zidan will start the game or Guerrero will take the Egyptian's position in the starting line-up.

It should be noted that HSV play with a single striker at front with Van der Vaart plays the role of a support man behind the lone forward. In this tactic, Guerrero could be more efficient than Zidan because the Peruvian is much better in the air and can benefit from crosses while Zizou might fit better in Van der Vaart's place.

The problem could be solved if HSV could sacrifice a midfielder at the expense of a second striker as this will enable Zidan to start alongside the target man (Guerrero) while Vaart will remain as a support man.

More on Zidan soon...
