HSV lost for the first time this season as they suffered a 2-1 away defeat at the hands of the on form Bochum who claimed the top spot in the table.

Zidan played the game from the start and came off in the 62nd minute to make way for Olic. The Egyptian was behind the only two chances that HSV got till the 62nd minute but he wasn't lucky once again and couldn't convert.

The first half was pretty tight as Bochum played a pressing game from the start and forced HSV players to lose the ball constantly because of the pressure. As a result, Bochum had better control on midfield and Zidan totally lacked support.

The Egyptian created the only chance for HSV all by himself when he used his skills and close control to take the ball past four defenders before firing a shot with his left foot but the ball went into the side netting.

Apart from this chance, HSV couldn't do much and even conceded a goal after a poor defending from HSV players in a throw-in.

In the 2nd half, HSV wanted to score the equalizer and so, they pushed men forward at the expense of defense. This made their back line exposed but they also created more chances.

From one of these chances. The ball was laid off to Zizou after a freekick from the edge of the box, the Egyptian fired a shot with his left but it came off a defender and went wide.

In the 59th minute, HSV's defender Kompany made a harsh foul and was shown a straight red card and the guests had to resume the game with ten men on the pitch.

In the 62nd minute, Zidan came off and was replaced by Olic. Stevens also introduced a more offensive midfielder (Ben-Hatira) and another forward (Guererro) in the 2nd half.

Despite the pressure from HSV, they conceded a 2nd goal which came through a powerful shot from the edge of the box and it went straight into the top corner to make the job almost impossible for the guests.

Just a few minutes before the final whistle, HSV were awarded by a penalty kick after a foul inside the box, from which Van der Vaart scored the only goal to end the game in a 2-1 away loss for Zidan's side.

More on Zidan soon...
