Zidan Scores First Official Goal For HSV

Mohamed Zidan scored his first official goal for Hamburger SV in the away DFB Pokal match versus Holstein Kiel. HSV scored first through Van der Vaart and Zizou added the 2nd goal in the 54th minute from a well placed shot from the edge of the box. The game ended in a 0-5 win for HSV who added goals through De Jong, Choupo-Moting and Castelen.

Zidan scored first official goal for HSV

Mohamed Zidan's Hamburger SV faced Holstein Kiel in the DFB Pokal. The away encounter ended in an easy and big 0-5 win for the guests.

The match which was attended by 4000 faithful HSV fans saw Zidan scoring his first official goal for HSV.

HSV didn't have the best start in the game as Kiel had most of possession in the opening minutes and almost scored an early goal through Famewo but he had a terrible miss and the homeside couldn't take the lead.


Early chance could change things

After the big chance, Kiel had a couple of attempts through long shots but both were deflected off defenders and went for a corner.

In the 26th minute, Van der Vaart played an excellent one-two with Jarolim who laid the ball superbly to Varrt and the latter managed to take it past his marker and smashed it low into the lower corner to give HSV the lead.


Zidan and teammates celebrate first goal

The goal gave HSV a confidence boost and they started to bombard Kiel with long range shots but the homeside goalkeeper dealt well with a couple of shots.

In the 2nd half, HSV continued their pressure and De Long missed from close range.

In the 54th minute, Zidan received the ball just outside the box and fired a great shot that the goalkeeper couldn't do anything about it and it ended in the back of the net to double the lead for HSV.


Powerful shot from Zizou doubled the lead for HSV

In the 71st minute, Zidan played a nice backheel to Vaart to crossed the ball high into the box to find de Jong who headed home to make the score 0-3 for HSV.

In the 77th minute, Van der Vaart came off and was replaced by the new signing Castelen who joined from Sherif Ekramy's Feyenoord.


In the 80th minute, HSV's defender Reinhardt fouled one of Kiel's forwards while he was clean through on goal, the referee whistled for a freekick and showed the defender the red card for the professional foul.


Fans cheer for Zizou after the match

Mohamed Zidan came off in the 81st minute and was replaced by Choupo-Moting whio managed to score the 4th goal from a one on one wsituation with the keeper after a clever through pass by Castelen.

Despite playing with ten men, HSV continued to score via Castelen who scored in the 90th minute from a powerful shot from close range to end the game in a big 0-5 win for HSV.

WIth this victory, HSV will advance to the 2nd stage in the DFB cup.
