Ivorian striker Boubacar Sanogo signed for HSV's arch rivals Werder Bremen. The forward signed a four year contract which will keep him at Bremen till 2011.

This means that Mohamed Zidan will face less competition for the starting eleven and will feature in more games.

Sanogo joined HSV from Kaiserslautern in 2006 and appeared in 31 matches. Despite this, he only scored four goals. The Ivorian also featured in many HSV friendlies this season and scored a few goals.

It should be noted that HSV will play another friendly tonight while they face Juventus on the 1st of August in another friendly encounter.
