Egyptian TV channel, Dream interviewed Mohamed Zidan. The Egyptian had some comments about his new side HSV, his former club Mainz and the more.

Zidan revealed Mainz' interest in Al-Ahly striker Emad Moteb as a possible replacement for Zidan:

"They (Mainz officials) asked me about Moteb and if I recommend him. I told them that he is an excellent forward with international experience as he won the ACN with the Egyptian national team".

Regarding his choice to leave Mainz and sign for HSV, the Egyptian commented:

"I left Mianz and it was a very difficult decision. I was attached to the club and fans but I had half of Europe wanting me so I had to take the right decision and chose HSV".

"Hamburg (HSV) is a very big club in Germany, they just had a bad season but they qualified for the Champions League the season before. They needed a striker and they wanted me to sign for them in order to play not just sit on bench".

When asked about the reasons behind signing for HSV in particular, the Egyptian added:

"Choosing HSV over other clubs was easy for me as I met with the coach Hub Stevens in the airport before signing and I had a very positive impression on him so I wanted to sign for the club".

"I didn't want to repeat the mistake I did when I signed for Werder Bremen as I only met with the club director (Claus Allofs) and first time I met with coach Thomas Schaff was in training so I never knew his plans about me".

When asked about the preseason training and when its goring to start, Zizou concluded:

"We are going to start training for the new season on the 2nd of July and then we will have a training camp in Austria a few days later".
