Zidan presented in the press conference

Interviewer: Mohamed, thank you very much for signing for the HSV. Your transfer from Mainz to HSV went perfect. Can you tell us about your feelings?

Zidan: I am over the moon and can't wait to meet the fans and my teammates at HSV.

Interviewer: Although you had offers from other Bundesliga clubs and from outside the country, you always said that HSV is your favorite club. Can you tell us why you felt so and preferred HSV over other clubs?

Zidan: Since I came to Germany and HSV was always in my mind. In my eyes, I see the club as one of the top clubs in Germany so I felt very interested to be a member in this successful team.

Interviewer: The fans are eager to see you playing together with Van der Vaart. Two technical players at front can do wonders together, can you tell us more about your views on this partnership?

Zidan: (Laughs...) Rafael is really a fantastic player and I am looking forward to play alongside him in attack. He is the type of player who I need as he can provide me with the killer pass that can get me a chance to score.

Interviewer: After a mediocre start, HSV finished 7th last season and will play in the Inter-Toto cup. Can you tell us about your expectations for the new season?

Zidan: I think we can compete for the Bundesliga title next season and I feel we can finish as one of the top three teams. As for Europe, we have a good chance to qualify for the UEFA cup.

Interviewer: On the personal level, tell us about your goals with HSV?

Zidan: I want to get used to my new team as fast as I can. I want to score as many goals as I can and make the club and fans happy.

Interviewer: You met with your new coach Huub Stevens, can you tell us about your first impression on him?

Zidan: It was a positive impression. He is strong but fair. It is important for me to feel that my new coach believes in me and needs me and I had that feeling when I met with Mr. Stevens.

The interviewer concluded the interview by asking Zizou about the last surgery that he underwent a few days ago and the Egyptian stressed that it has no effect on his preseason training.
