It seems that Zidan's next destination
will be Hamburg. The club confirmed that Zizou underwent
a medical yesterday and everything is set for his transfer
to HSV. which should be completed this weekend.
Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan underwent a successful
medical on Wednesday and will be the latest signing
for HSV. The Egyptian will be transferred for a fee
around 5 Million EUROs ($6.7 Million) and the contract
will keep him in Hamburg till 2011.
The club official website revealed that the deal will
be confirmed in a few hours after a final decision from
the club board.
The report revealed also that Zidan's medical went
without major issues but it showed that the Egyptian
has a groin problem that might require a surgery.
Zidan had previously told EP before his trip to Hamburg
that he is still considering all offers, but it seems
that HSV met the requirements that Zidan set for the
club that he wants to join.
It should be noted that HSV finished 7th in the table
last season and Zidan won't find it hard to be a starter
with them. He will also have the chance to play alongside
the talented Dutch international Van der Vaart who was
a former teammate for Mido at Ajax.
Zidan was at the centre of attention from many clubs from
Germany and all over Europe after Mainz' relegation. However,
he stated that he wants to continue playing in Germany as
he got used to the Bundesliga style of play and the language.
