The 2nd goal came in the last minute of the first half when
Zidan controlled the ball superbly outside the box and passed
it to the onside Soto who hit the crossbar, the ball bounced
back to play to find Ruman who headed it home to make the
score 2-0.
In the 2nd half, Mainz were content to play in ther own
half most of the time while their guests started to attempt
getting back into the game.
In the 72nd minute, Zidan used his skills well as he outplayed
the Gladbach defense and sent a through pass to Fuelner
who faced the keeper and scored the 3rd to confirm Mainz
win.
In the 84th minute, Klopp decided to rest Zidan so he took
him off and replaced him with Gerber. The Egyptian was cheered
by all the fans in the stadium who drew his face on a huge
piece of cloth.
After the match, Zidan went to fans and the whole stadoium
continued cheering for him for all his efforts and goals
this season. The faithful fans were in tears atter the final
whistle as they realized that this match will be the last
homa match for Mainz in Bundesliga 1.
