Famous Football magazine Kicker interviewed the Egyptian
striker Zidan. He expressed his desire to stay with
Mainz and hoped that he continues with them till his
contract expires in 2010.
Zidan admitted that Mainz need a miracle to stay in
the Bundesliga, but he stressed that he will save no
effort to help his struggling side in the next three
crucial matches.
When told about the interest from Stuttgart and Hertha
BSC, Zidan stressed that he desires to stay with Mainz
till 2010.
It should be noted that Mainz still have three matches
to play in the German Bundesliga. They are currently
in the 17th spot with 31 points and will have to face
Bayern Munich and Stuttgart away from home.
It is clear that Mainz situation is very critical and unless
they make some surprising results in the final three matches,
they will unlikely remain in the Bundesliga.
Zidan is contracted till 2010 but he has a relegation release
clause in his contract. So, it will not be difficult for
the Egyptian to move away from Mainz in case of their expected
relegation.
