Interest in Mohamed Zidan is already beginning
to pile up. Both Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart and Super
Lig giants Galatasaray and Besiktas are keen on taking
the Egyptian should his Mainz side drop into the Bundesliga
2.
When Zidan exclusively revealed to EP
that he agreed terms with Mainz, he hinted that he would
leave them should they suffer relegation.
"If they (Mainz) go down I have insured myself,"
Zizou said to EP in January.
"In the contract is a clause that if we go down
I can leave for a certain price."
Now it has emerged that the release clause is in the
region of ?3 million; a reasonable sum that may interest
a number of European clubs.
Zidan had accepted Mainz ahead of Spanish offers, but
the interest from La Liga may ignite if Mainz continue
to struggle.
Reports suggest Stuttgart are keen on snapping Zidan up
should Mainz go down.
Elsewhere in Europe, Turkish club Galatasaray are looking
into the possibility of a transfer.
And EP has also learned that Ahmed Hassan's former club,
Besiktas, whom Zidan was close to signing for in the past,
are being attracted by the 3 million EUROs proposition.
