Mohamed Zidan started in today's
tough clash between the table leaders, Shalke and Mainz
The game ended in a comfortable 0-3 win for the guests
who showed more quality and desire to win. On the other

Mainz simply had no chance to beat Schalke.
The guests played to win and had what it takes to achieve
their target. On the other side, Mainz were as usual
lacking in defense and midfield and Zidan's solo efforts
couldn't cause the desired impact.
Schalke scored after ten minutes from
the kick off through Kuranyi who scored a controversial
goal. The goal seemed a bit harsh for Mainz as the ball
came off the arm of Kuranyi before sending it home but
the referee waved play on.
The early goal was already devastating
for Mainz who couldn't fight back because of the quality
of Schalke's defense and midfield who put them under
constant pressure.
Despite this, Zidan had his moments in
the first half as he managed to steal the ball from
his marker in the left wing and cut into the middle,
the Egyptian had a chance to lay the ball back to Ruman
who was in a better position in front of goal, but Zizou
decided to shoot himself from a narrow angle but his
shot wasn't of a challenge for the goalkeeper.
In the 34th minute, Asamoah scored the
2nd goal for Schalke as he headed the ball home from
close range after a fine assist from Kurany.
After the 2nd goal, Zidan almost scored
for Mainz when he controlled the ball just outside the
area and stuck it into the top corner but his shot went
centimeters over.
