Before the match, the focus was on Zidan because of his hat-Trick against Cottbus and because of his new hair-cut which included the logo of his club Mainz on the back of his head. Zidan's hair-cut was similar to the one he made in Denmark while he was playing for FCM.

Zidan played the match from start to end, and was the source of Mainz danger throughout the match, Andreasen also had a good game and showed some danger on goal as well.

Both sides were evenly matched in the first half and both had one or two chances to score. Hertha BSC took their chance better as Dardai scored thhier first and only goal from a velloy shot in the 21st minute.

Before that goal, Mainz had a chance to score through Andreasen who powered a shot from the edge of the box at goal but it went to where Hertha goalkeeper was standing.

In the 32nd minute, Zidan had a great chance to score when the ball was crossed to him fromt he left wing. The Egyptian tried to stop the ball in the air and shot but he couldn't control the ball well and it came off a defender and went for a corner.

A couple of minuytes later, Zizou used his skills to run at Hertha defenders and try a low shot but Zidan's powerful shot went just wide.

In the 2nd half, Mainz played better and had more possession. They pressurized their opponent and managed to win a penalty kick in the 54th minute. Zidan converted the penalty kick well as he sent the ball into the bottom corner to make the score 1-1.

After the goal, Hertha had to push men forward which allowed Zidan and his teammates to have more spaces in the final third.

At this stage, Zidan led the attacks well, he was unselfish with the ball and held it well under pressure. The Egyptian also showed good vision but sometimes his final pass was somewhat lacking.

In the 64th minute, Andreasen did extremely well to meet a cross from the right wing with his foot and put the ball elegantly home from close range to make the score 1-2 for Mainz.

After the goal, Hertha tried desperately to get back into the game and almost equalized in the final minutes but Mainz remained solid till the final whsitle.

With this win, Mainz jumped into the 11th spot in the table and it seems that the club will not only avoid relegation, but will achieve a respectable position in the table at the end of season as well.

More soon on Zidan and Mainz..
