Zidan shone and scored a hat-trick in
Mainz home clash with Cottbus. The score was 1-1 when
Zidan started scoring. He added the 2nd and then the
3rd from a penalty kick to end the first half in a 3-1
lead for Mainz. In the 2nd half, the Egyptian added
another goal to end the game in a 4-1 win for Mainz.

Mohamed Zidan showed what he can offer
is given a fair chance to play. He led Mainz to an impressive
4-1 win over Cottbus and scored three out of the four
goals that Mainz scored.
Mainz took the lead early on, their first
goal came in the 7th minute through Andreasen who sent
the ball directly home after a fine long through pass
was played to him.
In the 20th minute, Mohamed Zidan sent
a pass by mistake to one of Cottbuss players, the poor
pass from Zizou led to a counter attacking move for
the guests and Radu managed to level the score.
Zidan was extramely sad because of his
poor pass that resulted in a goal for Cottbus abd went
to his coach to apologize for his mistake, Klopp showed
confidence in his Egyptian striker and it paid dividends
as the Egyptian erazed his mistake and scored three
times to win the game for Mainz.
Zidan's first goal came in the 22nd minute
when Sato sent a through pass to the onside Egyptian
who sent the ball low to give Mainz the lead once again.

After the goal, Zidan had a special celebration
with his coach Jurgen Klopp who didn't lose faith in
Zizou after his mistake which lead to Cottbus goal.

Five minutes before half time, the referee awarded Mainz a
penalty kick and Zizou scored from the spot confidently as
he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and placed the ball calmly
into the bottom corner to make the score 3-1 for Mainz.
In the 2nd half, Zidan added the 4th goal
for Mainz to seal his hat-trick in the 61st minute, the
goal came after a fine through pass across the field from
Sato to Zidan who was onside and had only the keeper to
beat, the Egyptian kept his nerve and played the ball gently
beyond the oncoming goalkeeper to end the game in a 4-1
win which put Mainz in the 14th spot in the table.
It should be noted that Cottbus goalkeeper
saved another goal for Zizou when he parried a low shot
from the Egyptian after a few minutes from the kick off
of the 2nd half.
