Egyptian striker Mohamed Zidan made an impressive debut for Mainz in their away clash with Bochum. Zizou helped his side to achieve a precious win that will help them move away from the bottom spot in the table.

Mainz entered the match with 11 points from 17 games. However, with Zidan in the starting line-up, they managed to win the three points.

The match was even in terms of the chances created by both teams. However, Mainz had better possession.

Early on in the game, Bochum almost took the lead from a free header from close range, but the Bochum forward squandered the chance as his header lacked power.

Soon after this, Zidan started to shine as he he received a long pass played to him in a stylish way and fired the ball at goal, but it went over the crossbar.

Zidan continued to impress as he played a one two in midfield, made a good run behind the defense and tried to bury the ball with a low shot, but Zizou was under pressure from defense and his shot went just wide.

A few minutes later, Rose managed to score for Mainz through a header from close range and Mainz ended the first half in a 0-1 lead.

In the 2nd half, Mainz remained controlling the midfield and Bochum's danger came through counter attacks which proved to be dangerous.

Minutes later, Zidan sent a gift pass to his teammate striker who didn't deal well with the ball and was dispossessed by defense.

Near the end of the game, Zidan got the ball outside the area, he tried a shot but it went just over.

Overall, Zidan was one of the best if not the best Mainz player on the field. He lead their attacks well and almost 70% of Mainz attacks came through Zizou.
