As EP reported, Klaus Allofs and Mohamed
Zidan both gave clear indications that the striker may
well leave in January. With Hannover 96 showing initial
interest, two more clubs are now looking to make offers,
though Mainz have admitted that a loan may be their
only hope.

Mohamed Zidan specified this week, that
he would like to leave on a permanent deal rather than
a loan. This has led to Mainz's chances of signing him
decreasing.
Mainz's general manager Christian Heidel has admitted
the club would love the striker they loaned last season
back, but that it will be hard to find the necessary
funds to buy him.
"Of course I'll speak with Bremen manager Klaus
Allofs," he said to the Wiesbadener Kurier paper.
"Bremen probably want to sell him (Zidan) this
time, not loan him out again.
"With €1.5 million (budget) we're not even
going to go there," he admitted.
Meanwhile, Hamburg SV are looking to make an offer for
Zizou, and they are apparently very close to making
a deal with Werder Bremen. The club is looking to buy
a number of top players in January in order to reach
their potential. With players such as Mido's former
team-mate Rafael Van der Vaart the club has been competing
well in the Champions League, but their domestic form
has been shocking.

Hamburg are known to spend when they need, and an offer
for Zidan is apparently well under way, though they will
likely be rivaled by Hannover 96.
Yet it's worth mentioning that the two clubs who today admitted
interest, Mainz and Hamburg, are at the bottom of the Bundesliga,
occupying the 18th and 17th places respectively! Zidan's
current club Werder Bremen go into the new year in first
place...
