After losing in Barcelona by two goals
to nil and the exit form UEFA Champions League, Werder's
coach decided to make a couple of changes as he replaced
the left back Wome with Schulz and also started with
Klasnic alongside Klose instead of Almeida.
Klasnic shone in the making of Werder's
first goal as he laid the ball to Naldo and the latter
controlled the ball under pressure and buried it home
to give Werder a 0-1 lead.
The homeside replied instantly and scored
the equalizer in the 4th minute. However, Werder reclaimed
their lead in the 11h minute through the Dane Daniel
Jensen while Nado added his 2nd and Werder's 3rd in
the 31st minute.
In the 2nd half, it was Naldo again who
scored to seal his hat-trick and to make the score 1-4
for Werder. His goal came from a well taken freekick
from 22 yards.
In the 81st minute, Frankfurt clawed a
goal back but they never looked eager enough to make
a comeback as Vranjes and Diego added a couple more
goals in the final minutes to end the clash in a 2-6
win for Werder.

Regarding Zidan, it is clear that he is having hard time
this season. Firstly, the good form of Hunt which lasted
for weeks prevented Zizou from featuring alongside Klose
and then the Surgery prevented the Egyptian from playing
for over a month and a half. Now, the Bundesliga will stop
for a month and also comes the winter break.
Winterbreak could offer the solution for Zidan
as players could leave to make way for the Egyptian to occupy
the 2d striker position beside Klose. The Werder coach kept
rotating Almeida, Hunt and Klasnic throughout the first
half of season in this position and so far, no one proved
his worth more than the others including Zidan. The departure
of either Almeida or Klasnic in January could give Zizou
a greater chance to be the 2nd striker. However, nothing
is certain as of yet and surprises cannot be excluded as
Zidan himself could be the striker who leaves in January
despite the fact that he confirmed his stay at Werder till
the end of season.
