Mohamed Zidan's Werder Bremen won their home clash with Hertha BSC by three goals to one. Diego gave the homeside the lead in the 23rd minute from a spot kick but Hertha managed to reply a couple of minutes later through Simunic.

In the 31st and 40th minutes respectively, Miroslav Klose scored twice to end the first half in a 3-1 lead for Werder. In the 2nd half neither Werder no Hertha was able to add any more goals and the game ended in a 3-1 victory for Werder Bremen.

This win put Werder temporarily on top of the Bundesliga table. However, Schalke still have a match in hand and with a win, they will get the top spot with two points away from Werder.

Egyptian star Zidan couldn't make it even to subs bench as he still needs more time to get back to full match fitness.

It should be noted that Werder started with Almeida and Klose at front while Klasnic and Hunt were on bench. In the 2nd half Klasnic replaced Almeida while Hunt came on to replace Daniel Jensen.

More on Zidan and Werder soon...
