Mohamed Zidan's Werder won their away Bundesliga clash with Nuremberg by two goals to one. Frings gave the guests the lead in the 32nd minute while Diego added the 2nd in the 79th minute. The only goal for Nuremberg came in the last minute via Banovic who scored from a penalty kick. Egyptian striker Zidan wasn't available to play the match as he needs more time to recover after the surgery that he underwent last week.

Zidan's Werder secured the top spot in the table after their away victory against Nuremberg on Tuesday night. The Bremen based side returned back home with precious three points as they achieved a 1-2 victory.

Werder scored a goal in each half, the first goal came through the midfielder Frings in the first half while the attacking midfielder Diego scored in the 2nd half to make the score 0-2.

In the last minute of the game, the referee awarded the homeside a penalty kick, from which Banovic scored their only goal.

Egyptian star Zidan was once again out of selection because of the surgery that he underwent last week and will keep him out of action for 2-3 weeks.

It should be noted that Werder are currently on top of the Bundesliga table with 23 points out of 11 matches. Stuttgart come 2nd with 21 points while Bayern Munich are in the 3rd spot with 17 points. However, the Bavarians still have a match in hand.

It is clear that Werder Bremen are enjoying their best season in the last few years, but this is not the same for Zidan who didn't play many games and also suffered from frequent injuries.
