Werder Bremen crushed Mainz by six goals to one. Mohamed Zidan was once again on the bench at start but he replaced Hunt in the 77th minute but had little time to make an impact. The Werder coach decided to start with Klose and Hunt at front and both succeeded to score 4 goals for the guests while Naldo and Diego added the 5th and 6th.

Werder Bremen continued their victories in the Bundesliga and crushed Zidan's former team Mainz by six goals to one on Saturday night. Egyptian star Zidan was once again on the subs bench and came on in the 2nd half.

Werder had no problems beating Mainz as they dominated the game from the start to end and their forwards, Klose and Hunt gave the side a comfortable 0-3 lead in the first half.

It took Klose 14 minutes to give Werder the early lead through a one on one situation with Mainz' goalkeeper while Hunt added the 2nd in the 19th minute through a simple finish. A minute later, Klose scored his 2nd goal to make the score 0-3 for Werder.

In the 2nd half, Mainz scored their only goal in the 73rd minute while Hunt added the 4th goal in the 74th minute and came off in the 77th minute to make way for the Egyptian Zidan.

Zizou almost assisted a goal in the few minutes that he played when he laid the ball superbly to Klasnic who had a great chance to score but the latter squandered the chance and denied Zidan's gift.

In the 79th minute, Brazilian defender Naldo added the 5th goal for Werder while Diego scored the 6th with only one left on the clock.

The victory gave Werder the chance to remain on top of the table for another week but it is clear that Zidan won't get the chance to start in game any time soon especially with the current combination between Klose and Hunt which proved to be effective in the past four weeks.

By the looks of it, Zidan will likely consider a move out of Werder in January if this situation continued, but only time ill tell...
