Werder Win 5-0 in First Friendly

Mohamed Zidan started preseason preparations with Werder Bremen a few days ago, the Egyptian also participated in their first preparation match versus TuS Pewsum. Zizou played the first half and did well but didn't score goals.

The game was the first Persian match for Werder. They lacked their international players who are currently representing Germany in the World Cup.

The coach Thomas Schaaf played each half with a different team and Zidan was amongst the first half squad.

The first half ended in a 3-0 lead for Werder as the Brazilian defender Naldo opened the scoring in the 18th minute while Fahrenhorst added the 2nd in the 26th minute. Just two minutes before half time, Polenz scored the 3rd goal for Bremen to end this half in an impressive 3-0 lead.

In the 2nd half, Zidan and his teammates were all replaced by another 11 players who managed to score two more goals and the final result was a 5-0 win in the first test in preseason preparations.


First half team: Wiese – Wome, Naldo, Fahrenhorst, Owomoyela – Baumann, Schulz, Diego, Hunt – Polenz, Zidan

Second half team: Reinke – Theuerkauf, Andreasen, Mohr, Fritz – Jensen, Peitz, Bischoff, Rockenbach – Mosquera, Harnik

Goals: 1:0 Naldo (16.), 2:0 Fahrenhorst (26.), 3:0 Polenz (43.), 4:0 Rockenbach (68.), 5:0 Harnik (71.).
