Werder Bremen's striker, the Paraguayan international Nelson Valdez signed for Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth 4.5 million EUROs. This move should increase Zidan's chances to see more first team action at Werder.

Egyptian star Mohamed Zidan will wear the shirt number "9" in the coming season. This comes after Werder Bremen sold their striker Nelson Valdez to Borussia Dortmund.

Valdez, who wore the number "9" shirt in the previous season, was the third choice striker at the Bremen based side after Miroslav Klose and Ivan Klasnic and because of that, Zidan couldn't find a place for him in the first team and Werder decided to loan him out to Mainz.

Now the situation has changed by Valdez departure as Zidan will see action regularly with Werder. The Egyptian will be the 3rd choice after Klose and Klasnic.
