The striker had received some injections after his
injury. Still though, the club chose to play him.
Zidan scored against Bayern, but now has to pay the
price. His knee hurt again. Two days later he was forced
to go to Bremen and the Werder doctors checked on him:
"He must be very careful in the coming weeks,"
they commented.
Werder's sporting director Allofs told the Mainz manager:
"We know about Mainz's situation (relegation battle),
but Mohamed is under contract at Werder and we don't
want to see our players injured when they return from
loan."
