Zidan started alongside Mainz' topscorer Michael Thurk and looked dangerous straight from the kick off when he controlled the ball well under pressure in the left side of the box and laid the ball to Thurk in the left wing who crossed it low but the defense cleared the situation.

In the 7th minute, Zidan sent a low pass to Thurk in the box and the latter tried to cut into the middle but he made a foul and the referee showed him a yellow card.
