Mohamed Zidan has revealed that he is
pleased not to be selected for the national team, and
that they are too unprofessional when it came to dealing
with him. EgyptianPlayers.com present a translation
of his comments.

"I am actually pleased (to have not been called
up)," said Zidan to BT, ironically a Danish newspaper.
"They (the national team) are simply too unprofessional
for me."
Regarding not showing up after Christmas, he added,
"They sent a fax to Mainz on the 23rd of December,
when everybody knows that the whole of Europe is on
holiday. They should have done it a long time before
that if they were interested in me.
"They have travelled to Tottenham and talked to
Mido, but they didn't visit me.
"I play for a big club in a big league and deserve
that they also visit me."
He also added that Hassan Shehata hasn't been getting
along with him, as he had stated about Marco Tardelli.
"The Egyptian head coach has not treated me well,
and the whole thing is just unprofessional," concluded
the Mainz striker.

Such comments add to the Zidan national team saga, which
looked to have ended when he finally put on the red shirt
a few months ago. Some will argue that it was clear from
the start that Zizou just wasn't keen on representing Egypt.
