EXCLUSIVE:
Egyptian national team coach Ahmed
Soliman has told EgyptianPlayers.com that Mohamed Zidan
has not yet been excluded from the African Cup squad,
but that there are plenty of players in his position,
and so missing out on him isn't a disaster.
After being informed of comments
made by Ahmed Zidan (Zidan's brother) to EP, Ahmed
Soliman responded, "We rung Zidan a lot and I called
him and left a message on the answering machine of his
mobile phone, and Shawki Ghareeb left a message too."
He continued, "The squad names have also been written
all over the Internet and surely he has been on and
seen."
In regard to the squad, Soliman denied that Zidan was
out of it completely, but hinted that there is no horrendous
need for him. "We haven't made a final decision
on dismissing him. We will wait and if he comes then
we will have a sit down and see what to do.
"But we don't have any problems in his position. There
are plenty of replacements," he concluded.
