EXCLUSIVE:
Mohamed Zidan's sibling, Ahmed Zidan, has told EgyptianPlayers.com
that his brother may be in Spain or Denmark, but that
his destination is unknown. He has however stated that
Mohamed told him that there was no call-up yet from
the national team.

There are strong senses of deja vu as Zidan may well
be on holiday in Europe once more, rather than being
with the national team. In
June 2004 Zidan told EP that he was in Portugal,
and now his brother, in a similar situation, claims
the striker is abroad.
"I spoke to friends from Germany and they told
me that he might be in Spain, and will be back in Egypt
in five or six days," said Ahmed Zidan to EgyptianPlayers.com
on Wednesday.
"My mum will travel to Denmark on the 31st of December
and will search for him to tell us the latest news,"
he added.
But there is still no confirmation from anyone related
to Zidan that he was called up by the national team.
The EFA staff have repeated that they have called him
up, but the player's brother is unsure. "I spoke
to Mohamed last time before the Kaiserslautern match
and he told me that the club hadn't received any message
from the national team," claimed Ahmed Zidan.

"I guess the national team sent the fax after he travelled
to Spain or Denmark. I think so but I can't be sure.
"Zidan has never failed to turn up for the Egyptian
national team, and he wants to go to any Egyptian call-up
whether he will play or not, and he has turned up every
time in the past."
It may be too late for Zizou, after reports that he has
already been taken out of the squad. Coach Ahmed Soliman
told EP a few days ago that the national team no longer
wants the services of the Mainz striker.
Zidan is the second professional abroad to be scrapped from
the squad, after Beshir El Tabei was reportedly kicked out
following a misunderstanding in the camp.
