EXCLUSIVE:
Although Zidan was named in the initial
26-man squad for Egypt's national team, he has not yet
arrived and rumours are spreading that he and his club
have either ignored or not received the national team
staff's request for him to be called up. EgyptianPlayers.com
has done some investigating, calling Zidan himself,
his brother and national team coach Ahmed Soliman.

EgyptianPlayers.com contacted Ahmed Zidan, the striker's
brother in Egypt. The first time, his brother assured
that Zidan will come to Egypt and try to arrive before
the LG Cup game against Uganda so that he can take part.
But this never happened, and so once again his brother
was contacted, and yesterday (Monday) revealed that
he himself cannot reach Zidan and that all of the player's
phones are off. He added that Zizou has taken a holiday
and may have gone to another place before coming.
Ahmed Soliman, the famous goalkeeping coach who is
currently one of the main members of staff in the national
team was then contacted by EP.
"We called Zidan and left messages on his answering
machine but he didn't answer," said Soliman.
EP informed Soliman that his brother assured us Zidan
will arrive before the LG Cup, but the coach's response
was, "Will he come to us on his own terms when
he finishes his own business?! He must be kidding?!"

Soliman continued, "We know that he doesn't have matches
after the Kaiserslautern match, and we had wanted him in
the very first camp."
EgyptianPlayers.com attempted to contact Zidan himself.
An automated answer every time: "Hello this is Zidan;
just leave your message..."
