Mohamed Zidan returned back to starting eleven in today's big clash between Bayern Munich and Mainz. The game ended in 2-1 win for the homeside. Despite the result, Mainz and Zidan were extremely unlucky as they were close to score the equalizer in the second half and forced Bayern to play in their own half. Zidan played a very good game and caused problems to Bayern defense thanks to his passes and individual skills.

Mohamed Zidan's Mainz showed an overall excellent performance against the Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich. Despite playing on Bayern Munich's home turf, Zidan and his teammates gave the homeside a hard time and almost equalized in the final minutes after forcing the Bavarian team to play on their own half.

Egyptian star Mohamed Zidan played the game from the start to end and did very well throughout the game. The Egyptian didn't get clear chances because of the solid defense of the home team. However, Zidan used his skills and elegant tough to help his teammates by giving them more space to maneuver and by sending them accurate passes in good attacking positions.

The game started with expected pressure from Bayern Munich and they managed to take the lead through Claudio Pizzaro in the 28th minute. The goal came through a fast counter attack from the Bavarian side and the ball reached the Dutch international striker Roy Makaay in the left wing, he advaced well with the ball and sent a low cross to the oncoming Pizzaro who met it directly with his left and found the net to make the score 1-0 for the homeside.

Surprisingly, Mainz ddn't gave up and replied instantly to Bayern's goal through their forward Benjamin Auer who got the ball just outside the box and played the ball gently with his left into the far corner to beat Oliver Kahn and to make the score 1-1 in the 34th minute.

In the 2nd half, Bayern Munich extended their lead through Pizzaro who scored his second goal of the game in the 54th minute.

After the goal, Mainz started to attack and forced the homeside to defend. It was interesting to see the mightly Bavarians in their own half and Zidan toether with his teammates taking control of the game and causing troubles to Bayern Munich on their home stadium and in front of their supporters.

Zidan was one of the most impressive Mainz players in the game, the Egyptian didn't overuse his skills and wasn't selfish. He rather helped his teammates with his accurate passing. The Egyptian didn't get clear chances to score but he showd off his dribbling skills when he got the ball inside the box and managged to dribble three defenders in a very tight space. However, Zidan fell onto the ground while he was trying to shoot and the chance went begging.

Zzou got another chance when the ball fell to him while he was just outside the box, the Egyptian unleashed a powerful volley shot at goal but the ball came off Lucio and went for a corner. Zidan complained to the referee as the ball came off Lucio's arm but the referee wasn't interested.

With this result, Mainz remained in the 14th spot in the table while Bayern Munich are still on top with 37 points.
