Surprisingly, Mainz ddn't gave up and replied
instantly to Bayern's goal through their forward Benjamin
Auer who got the ball just outside the box and played the
ball gently with his left into the far corner to beat Oliver
Kahn and to make the score 1-1 in the 34th minute.

In the 2nd half, Bayern Munich extended their
lead through Pizzaro who scored his second goal of the game
in the 54th minute.
After the goal, Mainz started to attack and
forced the homeside to defend. It was interesting to see
the mightly Bavarians in their own half and Zidan toether
with his teammates taking control of the game and causing
troubles to Bayern Munich on their home stadium and in front
of their supporters.
Zidan was one of the most impressive Mainz
players in the game, the Egyptian didn't overuse his skills
and wasn't selfish. He rather helped his teammates with
his accurate passing. The Egyptian didn't get clear chances
to score but he showd off his dribbling skills when he got
the ball inside the box and managged to dribble three defenders
in a very tight space. However, Zidan fell onto the ground
while he was trying to shoot and the chance went begging.

Zzou got another chance when the ball fell
to him while he was just outside the box, the Egyptian unleashed
a powerful volley shot at goal but the ball came off Lucio
and went for a corner. Zidan complained to the referee as
the ball came off Lucio's arm but the referee wasn't interested.

Zidan to Lucio: Hey, the ball came off your
arm!
With this result, Mainz remained in the 14th
spot in the table while Bayern Munich are still on top with
37 points.
