During half time, Mainz coach Jurgen Klopp decided to bring
Mohamed Zidan on for the first time in the last few weeks.
The Egyptian came on to replace Thurk and had an immediate
impact.
Zidan's first chance came early on in the
2nd half. It came through a long ball played to him, he
managed to control it well on his chest and advanced on
the keeper, but the latter was closer to the ball and got
to it before Zizou.
The Egyptian continued to impress as he controlled
the ball well after a fine cross from the left wing, he
then laid the ball to an oncoming teammate who fired a low
shot at goal, the ball almost went in but it came off the
foot of a defender and went for a corner.
In the 70th minute, Noveski scored his 3rd
goal in the game (this time inside the opponents' net) from
a well placed header after a cross from the left wing.
The continuous pressure from Mainz gave them
the equalizer in the last minute of the game. The ball was
played to Zidan who advanced with it into the left side
of the area, the Egyptian passed the ball on the floor from
narrow angle to find Ruman who put it gently home to grant
Mainz a precious point.
