Rami Shaaban spoke to EP about his trial at Tottenham
Hotspurs and his belief that the Czech keeper Cerny
was unfairly preferred to him.
Rami Shaaban had spent some time at the
North London side on trial, and is convinced that he
impressed the coaching staff. "They were very happy
with me and the coaches wanted me," he told EP.
The former Arsenal keeper had told EP previously that
this was an ideal move for him, as he still had connections
and a flat in London.
However, Spurs announced the signing of Czech keeper
Radek Cerny from Slavia Prague soon after, to quash
any chances of Shaaban's dream move.
Rami was not happy with this transfer, as it seems
that the move was sparked by business interests rather
than football. "Unfortunately it's all about business
and it became clear that the CEO of Spurs, Mr Levy,
has stocks in a company which also owns the Czech team,
so it's actually as if they bought their own keeper,"
he indicated.

"That's life."
As for the possibility of other clubs taking him on, he concluded,
"I'm still looking, so we will see where I end up finally."
