EXCLUSIVE:
Rami Shaaban has told EP that he is spending time thinking
over the offer he received from German side FC Saarbrücken.
The next few days may prove to be decisive in the future
of the Egyptian keeper.
Shaaban had been on trial with German
Bundesliga 2 side FC Saarbrücken. "I went
there for three days trial and it went well," he
told EP.
He subsequently received an offer from the side, who
are looking for promotion to the top German flight this
season. However, Shaaban has not accepted the offer
at first sight and is spending time to ponder over it.
"I got an offer but it was not what I was expecting,
so I said to them that I need to think about it over
Christmas," he explained.

EP asked the goalkeeper about how he sees his chances with
the German team, as first team football has always been a
priority to him in making his decisions since leaving Arsenal.
"They don't need a goalkeeper until the summer, but they
liked what they saw," he declared. "If I sign I
won't be 'number one' in the first six months, but after that
I will Inshallah (Godwilling)."
The reason for this, Rami explained, is that "The goalkeeper
that is there at the moment is 42 years old, and a hero at
the club, so they will play him till the summer."
