In a very tough and even match on a bumpy spring pitch
in Fredrikstad, only a fantastic long range effort from
Lillestrom's Slovenian midfielder Robert Koren could
separate the teams. The match suffered from a strong
wind in addition to the difficult pitch, making it difficult
for the teams to find any accuracy in their passing.
Rami didn't have too much to keep him warm, but some
fumbling in the air aside, he did what was expected
from him.

Neither team managed to produce any clear
chances in the first half. The most dangerous situations
arose when each goalkeeper fumbled the ball once, but
in both situations no attackers were there to put the
ball in.
At half-time, FFK coach Eggen surprised the fans by
using two of his three changes. He brought on the attackers
Martin Wiig and Oyvind Hoas for Michael Ron and Mihaly
Toth in at attempt to revitalise the dormant FFK attack.
But even after this, both teams struggled to create
chances also in the second half. The defences looked
solid, and Lillestrom in particular refused FFK any
space to get their game going.
After 71 minutes, Lillestrom's Robert Koren scored what
proved to be the game winner with a fantastic shot from
25 metres that left Rami with no chance.
FFK felt cheated from a penalty with only seven minutes
left to play, however. Oyvind Hoas was held forcefully
in the penalty area, but the referee either didn't see
the incident or he judged it not to be an offence worthy
of further notice.
But even if FFK managed to maintain some possession
at the end of the game, Lillestrom, who are predicted
to be among the top teams this season, didn't have too
much trouble controlling the victory.
