Another Good Game For Rami

Date: 20-4-2006
Wrote: EP's reporter in Norway Bjørn Jervell Hansen

FFK's away game against Viking in Stavanger was considered one of the most difficult games for the club away from home. Keeping that in mind, most FFK fans were satisfied with the result: Another 1-1 draw. Rami again was important for FFK, making a point-saving stop when Viking's Jone Samuelsen had only the goalkeeper left to beat well into injury time.

The first half of this Tippeligaen encounter didn't have much to offer fans looking for an entertaining and well played game. Viking were expected to come out strong to prove to their demanding home crowd that they are a contender for a top three spot this year, but FFK soaked up what little pressure Viking had to offer well, even though Rami was the busier goalkeeper.

The second half saw the teams reappear with a quite different attitude, and only 8 minutes in, Viking's Robert Mambo Mumba took advantage of a brilliant pass from Alexander Odegaard and a passive FFK defence to make it 1-0 to the home team.

But just like in the last game against Brann, FFK showed character by replying at once: Hans Erik Ramberg received the ball in the box, and calmly placed the ball in the net for the equaliser.

After this the match livened up a bit, with FFK enjoying the best chances until Samuelsen failed to beat Rami in injury time.

All things considered, a draw was probably a fair result from the game even though the FFK coach and players were quoted as saying they felt they deserved to win this one.

Rami had another solid game with the exception of one occasion when he was caught out in his area, losing a challenge for a high ball to the tall Viking striker Peter Kovacs.
