Rumours in the press has it that FFK's new goalkeeper Rami Shaaban has signed for a yearly wage of 1,5 million Norwegian kroner (approximately £125.000), making him FFK's highest paid player.

Neither FFK's director, Arve Mokkelbost, nor Shaaban himself is willing to confirm the figures, but Mokkelbost says that Shabaan's contract is "among the biggest contracts ever made by the club" to Fredrikstad daily Fredriksstad Blad. Shaaban himself is quoted as replying "That was more than I knew. But I'm obviously happy with the deal, even if I won't comment on any figures" when confronted.
