EXCLUSIVE: Rami
Shaaban is back at Arsenal, but only to train. Speculation
had risen that he may be offered a contract, but the
player denied this, stating he was there just "to
keep fit."

The continuing poor performances of Arsenal's
substitute goalkeepers allowed some realism to rumours
that Shaaban's presence with Arsenal could involve a
new contract, although they had recently signed another
back-up goalie in Mart Poom.
EP contacted the player to get the truth of the matter.
"It's just speculation," stated Rami to EgyptianPlayers.com.
"I'm training with them (Arsenal) every now and
then to keep fit," he continued.

Shaaban is still looking for a new club, and as a free agent
is not tied to any transfer deadlines. However, there seems
no viable option yet.
"I don't know what will happen in the near future,"
concluded Rami.
