Forgotten man Mohamed Shawky
finally appeared in picture once again as he was named
amongst the substitutes of Boro in their home FA Cup
clash with Manchester City. However, Shawky remained
as unused sub throughout the match which ended in a
0-1 defeat for Boro and meant their exit from the compeition
as well.
Egyptian mdifielder Mohamed Shawky remained
as unused sub in Boro's home clash with Man City in
the FA Cup. Shawky didn't see a single minute of action
and remained on bench the whole 90 minutes though.
The match ended in a 0-1 home defeat for
Boro which meant their exit from the FA Cup compeition.
The single goal came in the last minute of the first
half through Mwaruwari.
Shawky became a forgotten man at Boro
and was left out of the Cup of Nations squad of Egypt
due to his lack of first team football with his club.
The player is considering his options at the time being
and could move to another club in the current window.
However, Shawky's options are clearly limited since
he won't feature in the Cup of Nations and didn't see
any action with Boro this season. The player claimed
that he rejected offers from his home club Al-Ahly as
he wishes to stay in Europe but he didn't exclude the
option of playing for one of the Gulf clubs.
More on Shawky soon....
