Mido sat on bench again in Wigan's
away clash with Stoke City as Rodallega started the
game as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation. After an
even and score-pess first half, Sotke took the lead
from a welll placed shot by Fuller in the 69th minute.
Mido replaced N'Zogbia a few minutes later in a hope
he can level the score but the home side managed to
extend their lead to two goals as Jamed Beattie headed
home from close range in the 76th minute. Mido did reasonably
well in the minute he played as his hold up play was
good but he didn't cause any marked danger on goal.
Despite facing one of the weaker sides
of the Premier League, Wigan miserable form continued
as they lost by two goals to nil to Stoke City who barely
managed to escape relegation.
Mido was once again on the bench at the
start of the game as Steve Bruce preferred to play with
only Rodallega at front in a 4-5-1 formation as EP reported
earlier.
The Egyptian replaced the left winger
N'Zogbia in the 2nd half, he held the ball well and
won some headers but rather than that, he couldn't threaten
the goal.
Both goals from Stoke City came in the
2nd half. In the first half, Wigan did well to keep
Stoke danger at bay but they didn't do well enough to
score goals. The 2nd half performance was poor from
Mido and Zaki's side though as they conceded a couple
of goals and didn't show enough creativity to score.
The first goal for Stoke came through Fuller who beat
three defenders by himself and scored. He was luckily
to have the ball dropping at his foot and buried it
with a neat touch into the far corner to give the homeside
the lead.
The 2nd goal came after Mido was introduced
to the field through the other striker James Beattie
who headed the ball with ease home to double Stoke's
lead.
With this loss, Wigan are now 12th in
the table and have one match at home before the end
of season against Portsmouth. This match might mark
the return of Amr Zaki who missed today's match due
to injury.
Aside from this news, Manchester United
managed to defend their title after their goalless draw
at home with Arsenal this noon.
