Mido
started alongside Colombian striker Rodallega in Wigan's
home clash with Bolton Wanderers. Mido did well in the
first half as he made some key flick ons and also had
an effort on goal which was turned away for a corner
by the keeper. Zaki, on the other side, replaced his
compatriot Mido with only 15 minutes left. He looked
in a good shape but didn't have enough time on the pitch
to make a difference.
Wigan continued to waste points as they
drew 0-0 at home with Bolton. Mido and Rodallega started
at front while Zaki came on in the 2nd half to replace
Mido.
In the first half, Wigan were the better
side and created more chances. However, quality of finishing
and the form of Bolton keeper prevented them from scoring.
Mido in particular, looked in a very good shape in this
half as his flick ons created real chances for N'Zogbia
and Rodallega. However, both players failed to take
advantage and score.
Mido had a couple of attempts in this
half as well, the first from a left footed shot but
it was turned behind for a corner by the keeper. Minutes
later, he had another left footed shot which was deflected
off a defender and reached Rodallega but the latter
shot was denied by the keeper as well.
Zaki replaced Mido with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Mido was applauded by the crowd as he came off after
his impressive display. On the other hand, Zaki looked
in a good shape as well but the wingers Valencia and
N'Zogbia didn't feel like passing to the Egyptian striker
who looked frustrated due to poor support.
