Egyptian striker Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam spoke again to Egyptian TV station Al-Hayat. He made some interesting comments on his partnership with Zaki, his new club Wigan, his new manager Steve Bruce, his ex-teammate at Marseille Didier Drogba and more. Egyptianplayers.com present exclusive translation of the interview:

When asked about about his compatriot Amr Zaki and whether it will be a fruitful partnership or it will create rivalry and tension between the two centre forwards, Mido replied:

"Me and Zaki are friends. It is the first time for both of us to play in the same team and it is too early to evaluate our partnership, but I can see that we will complement each other. I can help Zaki communicate better on and off the field and I will benefit from his strong physical presence in the matches".

When asked about his loan deal at Wigan and whether he will return to Boro at end of season or not, Mido said:

"I am a Boro player till now. I just joined Wigan on loan till end of season but I feel happy at the JJB. Steve Bruce is a very good manager and I feel that I will develop under his management better. If you ask me about my personal opinion, I would say that I want to be at Wigan next season but this is not my choice, both clubs have to reach an agreement".

"I can say that I will unlikely stay at Boro next season. The manager and board know that I am very happy at the club and I think they won't mind letting me go".

When asked about his partnership with other forwards throughout his career, Mido said:

"I am an unselfish centre forward, I try to help my striking partner as much as I can do. I have partnered with many world class strikers like Drogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robbie Keane and they all went to top clubs. I hope that my partnership with Zaki also helps him joining one of the top clubs".

Speaking on his ex-teammate at Marseille Drogba, Mido added: "Drogba is unhappy at Chelsea. We still talk together alot and I can say that Drogba have much respect to Egyptian football and the Egyptian national team. He also loves Egypt much. I think he is unhappy because he was denied a move to join Maurinho at Inter Milan and so, he wasn't happy lately at Chelsea. Hopefully, the situation will change for the better for him after the sacking of Scholari".

When asked about who is going to take penalty kicks at Wigan in the coming period, Mido said: "Zaki is the number one penalty kick taker at the club. I just replaced him in this job against Liverpool as he came off just before we got awarded the penalty kick. I felt huge pressure while taking it since it was my first match and Reina is known for his skill in stopping spot kicks, but I managed to score the important equalizer".

When asked about Wigan support in that match, Mido said: "The atmosphere was Egyptian. It is hard to believe that the match was in the Premier League. I could spot at least 40 Egyptian flags in the stadium, Wigan supporters wearing Pharaohs costumes and red Fezzes. It was something special and I really wish that me and Zaki could pay the fans back and lead them to Europe".

Mido answered a question on how he joined Wigan, he said: "Last season, Steve Bruce wanted to sign me at Birmingham City and I was about to join them despite having offers from Sunderland and Boro. However, I felt that they didn't have enough ambition to stay in the Premiership and so I preferred to sign for Boro. But now, Bruce made a really ambitious squad in Wigan and when he called me and expressed his desire to sign me, I couldn't reject".

Speaking on the different leagues that he participated in, Mido said: "I can't deny that I made the best achievements with Ajax, but the strength of the Eredivisie can't be compared with the Premiership. In Spain, France and England, I also scored many goals and all these leagues are ahead of the Eredivisie. After playing in all these Leagues including Italy, all I can say is that I wish to stay in the Premier League till I retire from football. It is the world's best league".
