When asked about the deal, Mido replied: "It is a loan deal till end of season. I am really delighted with this move as it will allow me to play more. Also, Wigan is a good side and are in a respectable league position. They improved very fast in the past ten years from being a lower divisions side to a good Premier league club. In addition to this, Steve Bruce is a good manager and he made alot of improvements to the team".

Speaking on his partnership with Amr Zaki, he said: "I wish that me and Amr Zaki do well together at front. I like to play alongside Zaki and I am confident that we can complement each other for the good of the team".

When asked about Heskey's move to Aston Villa and if it will boost his chances to start or not, Mido added: "Emile Heskey completed his move to Aston Villa on Friday afternoon. He is a big and experienced centre forward in the Premier League and I am delighted with fans and Bruce confidence in me that I will be the right replacement for him".

Regarding his happiness at Boro lately, Mido said: "I was far from being happy at Boro as of late. The situation of the club was very poor due to bad results and this atmosphere allowed more problems to surface".

"I started feeling that I need to be in other place to feel happy again. For a month and a half, I didn't feel happy to train at Boro because of the many problems there. Today, I started to feel happy again when I attended my first training session with Wigan".

When asked about the reaction of Wigan fans towards his signing, Mido said: "I didn't have the chance to meet with the fans yet since I had a medical and training very early in the morning at 7.30 AM and so, no fans attended the training but I can read through websites that the fans are happy. They (the fans) know that I have good experience in the Premier League. I can see that the fans feel that I will be the right replacement for Heskey. The fans also see that my partnership with Zaki will work well".

Finally, Mido laughed at the report on the Sun Newspaper which claimed that the Egyptian has sent an SMS message to Spurs chairman Levy in order to bring him back to the team:

"This is a silly joke. I never spoke to Daniel Levy for four years and I don't even have his phone number. I was surprised to hear this today. People in Egypt believe everything in the British media, but they write a alot of untrue things".

Mido ended by interview by confirming that Amr Zaki will remain a Latic until Summer.
